I’m Johannes, co-founder of Subledger, and I want to share a bit about why we created this product.
Before Subledger, I was handling finance and accounting at my previous startup, and frankly, I did not enjoy it. The tools were clunky, slow, and seemed designed to make simple tasks unnecessarily complicated. As a programmer, I knew there were better ways.
That inspiration led me to team up with my co-founder, a CPA and corporate controller with years of industry experience. Together, we set out to build the accounting tool we wished we had – one that automates the tedious parts, works intuitively, and actually makes accounting less painful.
We’ve designed Subledger specifically for growing companies that have outgrown basic bookkeeping but don’t yet need complex enterprise systems. Our focus is on automating as much as possible while keeping you in control of your finances.
We believe in AI and machine learning to do a lot of heavy lifting, but ultimately they are tools to empower humans and should be embedded in a highly usable product.
